It was an upper mid-range vehicle that Riley released in 1935.

The V8 OHV engine was constructed from two four-cylinder Type 9 engines , had a displacement of 2178 cm³ and developed 80 bhp (59 kW). The roadster reached a top speed of 131 km / h.

The model was discontinued after a short time (in the same year) because it was not particularly successful. The Riley 2 1/2 appeared as its successor in 1937 .
