The Riley 11.9 was a passenger car made by the English car manufacturer Riley .

description

It was a mid- range car with a four-cylinder engine that Riley presented in 1924 as a more powerful version of the 10.8 .

The car had a four-cylinder block engine with a displacement of 1645 cm³, valves on the side and water cooling. This engine developed 42 bhp (31 kW) at 3600 min −1 and was equipped with a Zenith carburetor. As with the smaller 10.8, the chassis had a wheelbase of 2743 mm, the superstructure of the four-seater touring car was 4115 mm long and 1676 mm wide. On the 11.9, too, all four wheels were attached to semi-elliptic leaf springs. The chassis weighed 648 kg.

At the same time a Riley 11/40 was built, which had a copy from Cox instead of the Zenith carburetor. Otherwise there were no technical differences.

In 1929 the six-cylinder, overhead steering 14-6 replaced the 11.9 and 11/40 models.
