description
It was a lower mid-range vehicle that Riley released in 1926.
The Riley 9 has a four-cylinder in-line engine - the first controlled motor above the company's history - with V-shaped hanging valves, cross-flow cylinder head and two camshafts below. With a displacement of 1087 cm³, the engine had a maximum of 29 bhp (21 kW). All four wheels were suspended from rigid axles with semi-elliptical springs. The vehicles were available as tourers and with various other bodies.
The Riley Brooklands roadster was named after a famous motor racing circuit in England. The wheelbase was 30 cm shorter than that of the tourer. The elegant sports vehicle (with leather straps typical of the time to secure the bonnet) was built from 1928 to 1932 and reached 128 km / h.
In 1929 the sedans Riley 9 Kestrel and the Riley 9 Monaco appeared . The production of the 104 km / h fast vehicles was stopped in 1935 without a successor.
