description
All versions had an overhead four-cylinder in-line engine with 1496 cm³ displacement and an output of 51 bhp (38 kW), like the previous model. The engine was equipped with two Zenith carburetors. Chassis and bodywork matched those of the Riley 15/6 : the two models on a short chassis (wheelbase: 2769 mm), Falcon (4-window sedan) and Lynx (tourer), reached 107 km / h. The two large hatchback sedans (6 windows, wheelbase: 2857.5 mm) are called Adelphi and Kestrel and reached 117 km / h. There was also the Merlin , a roadster on an even shorter chassis (wheelbase: 2692.5 mm) that offered a top speed of 113 km / h.
In 1939, these designs were replaced by a vehicle that was only called Riley 1 1/2 (without addition). Its engine had only one SU carburetor and the chassis had a wheelbase of 2743 mm.
In 1940 production was stopped due to the war. The successors were the RM models from 1946.
