The Rimavica is a small, 33.1 km long river in the south of central Slovakia .

The river has its source in the Veporské vrchy mountains at an altitude of approx. 1020 m below the 1102 m high mountain Čierťaž south of Lom nad Rimavicou . Then the river circles the massif of the Plešková mountain and flows after the initial stretch to the northeast in a southeast direction, in a forest landscape. The Rimavica then reaches the place Utekáč and a few kilometers downstream Kokava nad Rimavicou , where it receives the right-hand Kokavka . After a short stretch to the south, it flows back to the southeast and flows past the place Lehota nad Rimavicou before it takes up the Svarín brook on the left and flows into the Rimava between Rimavská Baňa and Rimavské Zalužany .
