Ringan Ledwidge

Ringan Ledwidge (born May 24, 1971 ) is a British film director .

Life

Ringan Ledwidge studied at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in London . After graduating in 1993, he traveled to the Middle East and worked as a journalist and photographer in the Gaza Strip . He then went on a trip through America , where he also worked as a photographer. After his return, he increasingly focused his work on film directing and shot his first commercial in 1997 . Some music videos for bands like Red Snapper , Whale or Travis followed . In 1999 Ledwidge was awarded the Young Director Award of the European Federation for Commercial Film Producers (CFP-E), which led to further orders for commercials from big brands such as Adidas , Nike , Lynx and Volkswagen . Many of the commercials he directed have won multiple awards, including the British Television Advertising Awards and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity .

In 2006, he founded the film production company Rattling Stick with Daniel Kleinman and Johnnie Frankel , which subsequently produced other excellent commercials under Ledwidge's direction, such as Go On Lad for the British bread brand Hovis in 2009 or Three Little Pigs for The Guardian magazine in 2012 .

The 2007 movie Gone by Universal Pictures and Working Title Films was Ringan Ledwidge's directorial debut in this field. DreamWorks hired him in 2012 for the science fiction film Glimmer, which was due to appear in 2014.
