Nauendorf is a district of Großenstein in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

Nauendorf is located about two kilometers northwest of Großenstein in the Ronneburg arable and mining area . The corridor is interrupted by some erosion channels.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document on November 9, 1121. The village is the ancestral seat of the old Thuringian noble family von Nauendorf . The first chapel was built in 1384, and it was gradually given all ecclesiastical rights in the 16th century. In 1810 the church burned down and in 1821 the current church was consecrated. She received an organ in 1857.

Manor Nauendorf

The manor Nauendorf was a manor suitable for state assembly . The district road 114 runs through the place as a connecting road between the L 1079 (Altenburg-Gera) in Brahmenau and the L 1081 (Ronneburg-Zeitz) in Großenstein. Junction 59 Gera-Leumnitz of the A 4 is five kilometers away.

societies

The oldest association in Nauendorf is the fire brigade association, which emerged from the fire corps founded on April 29, 1834 and celebrated its 180th anniversary in 2014. In 2005 the independent defense was dissolved, but the association remained. The association currently has 49 members (as of 2014). The association organizes the annual Christmas tree setting, the fir tree throwing, Easter bonfire and, in cooperation with the Nauendorf fruit growing association, the setting of the maypole.
