history

The von Jagow family from Altmark can be traced back to Pollitz in 1469, when they enfeoffed a court to Berthold Menzendorf.

Before 1481 an estate in the village belonged to von dem Knesebeck zu Kolborn, who had given the estate to two people as a fief. In 1608 the village of Pollitz existed in the Beritt Seehausen, and the von Jagow farms had a farm in it. In 1745 there was the village and a knight seat of von Jagow zu Kalenberg. The manor was eligible for state assembly , d. H. the respective owner was a member of the Altmark estates or, from 1824, of the Altmark Municipal Parliament .

The manor of the Pollitz estate was built around 1800. The owner was Wilhelm von Jagow until 1838 and Friedrich von Jagow from 1838 to 1858 . After Friedrich's death in 1858, Gut Pollitz was burdened with extensive debts. To settle the debts, Gut Pollitz was converted into a family entailment commission. Friedrich's son Otto von Jagow was heir to this family affair . After Otto's death, his son Kreuzwendedich inherited von Jagow . After the loss of German inflation , his widow Elisabeth had to sell the Pollitz estate to the middle-class tenant Hugo Schmidt in 1925. Hugo Schmidt was expropriated in 1945 as part of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone. In 1946 the area of the estate was divided into 26 new farmer sites and in 1953 transferred to an agricultural production cooperative, the LPG type III "Frohes Leben".

Overall, Gut Pollitz (manor district) cultivated an agricultural area of 375 hectares in 1900.
