The Rivelaunbach , also Rifelaunbach or Katzenbach ( Italian Rio Rivellone ), is 5,488 m long and is a right tributary of the Eisack near Bozen in South Tyrol . It rises on the rides at Kaser field, north of the Wolfsgrubner lake in Oberbozen that Katzenbachtal flows through a part of the Rittner earth pyramids and flows Rentsch and St. Justina in the Isarco.

The brook, on the lower reaches of which the old Huck im Bach wine farm lies, is documented as " Riueloun " as early as 1285 . There has been evidence of its own water cooperative , the so-called Leeg am Rifelaun , since the 15th century .

The lower section of the stream has been built over the years because it has overflowed its banks in the past. A local recreation zone has recently been added to the lower reaches .
