Riverside is a city in Montgomery County in the US state of Ohio . At the time of the United States Census 2010 there were 25,201 inhabitants. It belongs to the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area .

geography

Riverside's geographic coordinates are 39 ° 47 '  N , 84 ° 7'  W (39.778858, −84.123094). According to the United States Census Bureau , Riverside has an area of ​​25.28 km², of which 25.17 km² is land and 0.11 km² is water .

In 1994, Riverside merged with the surrounding Mad River Township. This resulted in several sections within the district that do not belong to Riverside, but were previously annexed by Dayton and Huber Heights , as well as Wright-Patterson Air Force Base . There are a total of six such enclaves within Riverside, the southernmost of which includes four smaller areas, each of which only consists of connecting roads.

The district of Riversides borders within Montgomery County on Dayton, Kettering , Huber Heights and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a small part of Harrison Township in Montgomery County. To the east of Greene County are the City of Beavercreek , Bath Township and Beavercreek Township .

2010 Census

At the time of the United States Census 2000, Riverside was inhabited by 25,201 people. The population density was 1001.0 people per km². There were 11,304 housing units at an average of 449.0 per km². The population of Riversides was 87.2% White , 6.6% Black or African American , 0.3% Native American , 1.9% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 1.1% said to be of other races and 2.8% named two or more races. 3.3% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latinos of any race.

The residents of Riversides distributed to 10,284 households out of which 33.5% were living in children under 18 years of age. 44.2% of households were married, 15.0% had a female head of household without a husband, 5.9% of households were run by men without a wife, and 34.9% did not form families. 29.9% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 10.6% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 3.01.

The population was divided into 34.8% minors, 24.7% 18–24 year olds, 10.9% 25–44 year olds, 26.8% 45–64 year olds and 23.8% aged 65 years or more. The median age was 13.8 years. The population was 48.5% men and 51.5% women.

At the time of the United States Census 2000, Riverside was inhabited by 23,545 people. The population density was 1156.6 people per km ². There were 10,289 housing units at an average 505.4 per km². The Riversides population was 91.45% White , 4.26% Black or African American , 0.21% Native American , 1.76% Asian , 0.05% Pacific Islander , 0.61% said other races belong to and 1.66% named two or more races. 1.55% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latinos of any race.

The residents of Riversides distributed to 9768 households out of which 28.3% were living in children under 18 years. 49.3% of households were married, 12.2% had a female head of household without a husband, and 34.2% were not families. 27.9% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 10.1% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.95.

The population was divided into 23.5% minors, 10.3% 18–24 year olds, 28.4% 25–44 year olds, 23.0% 45–64 year olds and 14.9% aged 65 years or more. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 women there were 94.5 men. For every 100 women over 18, there were 91.6 men.

The median household income in Riverside was 37,034 US dollars and the median family income reached the amount of 43,650 US dollars. The median income for men was $ 33,987, compared with $ 23,525 for women. The per capita income was $ 18,702. 10.1% of the population and 6.7% of families had an income below the poverty line , including 12.4% of minors and 10.6% of those aged 65 and over.
