It rises in Lac du Pain de Sucre north of the Baskatong Reservoir . This is fed by the rivers Rivière Tamarac , Rivière Clova and Rivière Douville . The Rivière Gatineau initially flows in a south-easterly direction, later in a southerly direction. It flows through the Baskatong Reservoir.
