Renaldo Balkman (born July 14, 1984 in Staten Island , New York City , New York ) is a Puerto Rican - American basketball player .

At a height of 2.03 meters, it is used in both forward positions.

Career

Balkman was active for the University of South Carolina from 2003 to 2006 , where he averaged 9.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.

In the 2006 NBA draft , he was drafted 20th by the New York Knicks . At the Knicks he was whistled at first, but the antipathy subsided when he got a standing ovation in his ninth game for 18 points and seven rebounds . On July 29, 2008 he was traded from the Knicks for Taurean Green to the Denver Nuggets , but in 2011 he returned to the Knicks. After several short-term engagements, he was signed by the Dallas Mavericks on September 30, 2013 , but released before the start of the season.

Balkman is also a member of the Puerto Rican national team , with which he participated in the 2010 World Cup and the 2011 American Championship .
