Seatruck Progress

RoRo 2200 is a RoRo class of ships that was built by the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft for Seatruck Ferries .

history

The ships of the RoRo 2200 class were built from 2011 to 2012 by the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft. The ships were ordered by Seatruck Ferries in March 2008.

The Seatruck Progress , the first ship in the series, was named "Ship of the Year 2011" by Hansa magazine .

Two ships, the Seatruck Performance and the Seatruck Precision , were operated by Stena Line between Belfast and Heysham and between Belfast and Liverpool from 2012 to 2018 . Since then Seatruck Ferries has been using the ships between Warrenpoint and Heysham.

Technical data and equipment

The ships are powered by two seven-cylinder diesel engines made by MAN (type 7L48 / 60-CR) with an output of 8,000  kW each. The motors act on two variable pitch propellers via gears . The ships in the series are equipped with two 1,000 kW cross-thrust steering systems.

Two diesel generators from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are available for the power supply . An emergency generator from MAN was also installed.

On board the ships, there are 2,166 gauge meters on four decks for rolling loads  . The lowest deck on the tank ceiling is 5 meters high, the two decks above are each 5.2 meters high. These two decks can be reached directly via the 17.6 meter wide stern ramp . The tank ceiling and weather deck can be reached via ramps 4.4 meters wide on board.

The deckhouse is located in the forward area of ​​the ships.
