Ro is a fraction of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Riva del Po in the province of Ferrara in Emilia-Romagna . The locality, with its ancestral districts of Alberone, Guarda Ferrarese, Ruina and Zocca, extends about 5 kilometers from north to southwest.

Geographical location

The place lies parallel to the south of the lower reaches of the Po , which here forms the border between Emilia-Romagna and the Veneto bordering to the north . The village of Ro is located at an altitude of 5 m above sea level. The provincial capital Ferrara is located at a distance of about 20 kilometers in a south-westerly direction .

history

Ro was an independent municipality until 2018. On January 1, 2019, Ro and Berra merged to form the new municipality of Riva del Po . On December 31, 2017, the municipality had 3211 inhabitants on an area of ​​43 km². Neighboring municipalities were Berra, Canaro (RO), Copparo, Crespino, Ferrara, Guarda Veneta (RO) and Polesella (RO).
