history
Berra was created in the 11th century and is now in the center of an agricultural growing area. In the past, the fortunes of the city were strongly influenced by the Po and its river bed changes in the Po Delta. The city benefited considerably from the drainage campaigns of the 19th century. Until 2018, Berra was an independent municipality. On January 1, 2019, she merged with Ro to form the new municipality of Riva del Po. The districts of Cologna and Serravalle also belonged to the former municipality of Berra. The neighboring communities were: Codigoro , Copparo , Jolanda di Savoia , Mesola and Ro.
