Roba Gari
Roba Gari (also Roba Gary ; born April 12, 1982 in Shewa ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specializes in obstacle running.
At the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka, he was tenth in the obstacle course. In contrast, he was eliminated from the preliminary round of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. At the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin, he finished sixth.
The following month Gari set an Ethiopian national record in the obstacle course at the World Athletics Final in Thessaloniki with a time of 8: 11.32 min. He improved this in May 2010 at the Qatar Athletic Super Grand Prix in Doha to 8: 10.29 min. At the African Championships in Nairobi, he won the bronze medal. In September he increased his national record to 8: 09.87 minutes as second at the Athletics Continental Cup in Split.
At the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu, Gari was fifth. At the Pan-African Games in the same year he won the silver medal. In 2012 he finished fourth at the Olympic Games in London.
