Robert Brannekämper (born October 15, 1965 in Munich ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

Origin and education

Robert Brannekämper was born in Munich. His father ran a family business in the building trade, his grandfather Theo Brannekämper was a master builder for the cathedral in Munich. After graduating from Luitpoldgymnasium , he studied architecture in Munich. After graduating as a graduate engineer, he worked in several planning and architecture offices before joining the family company Brannekämper Haus- und Grundstücks GmbH & Co. KG in 1994 .

Political career

In 1993 Robert Brannekämper joined the CSU. From 1997 to the beginning of 2013 he held the office of local chairman. From 1995 to 2003 he was district manager in Munich-Northeast and has been district chairman there since 2005. Since 2001 he has been a member of the CSU district board. From 1996 to 2014 he was a member of the City Council of the City of Munich. He was a member of the following city council committees: Committee on Urban Planning and Building Regulations, Administrative and Personnel Committee, District Administrative Committee, Audit Committee. In the state elections on September 15, 2013, he was a direct and list candidate and won the direct mandate in the Munich-Bogenhausen district . In his first legislative period in the Bavarian state parliament , he was a member of the committees for science and art and for the public service. Also in 2018 he won the direct mandate for his constituency Munich-Bogenhausen in the state elections with 29.4%. Since 2018 Robert Brannekämper has been chairman of the committee for science and art in the Bavarian state parliament, member of the state monument council and member of the CSU parliamentary group committee

Volunteering

Robert Brannekämper began his voluntary work early in the Catholic Church as an altar boy and member of the parish youth of Heilig Blut Bogenhausen . He is still a member of the Catholic Council of the Munich region today. He is active in the Munich volunteer fire department and has been part of the command since 2000. He is also involved in the board of the Bavarian Red Cross in Munich and has been an active member of the Waakirchen mountain rifle company since 2009 . Robert Brannekämper is also a member of the political advisory board of the NS Documentation Center in Munich , since 2013 chairman of the prison advisory board of the Munich-Stadelheim prison and a member of the state monument council. He is the 1st chairman of the Friends of the Bavarian Army Museum eV, district chairman of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge Munich City and State and a member of the Bayerisches Amerikahaus gGmbH - Bavarian Center for Transatlantic Relations.

Political activity

In his work as a city councilor, Robert Brannekämper initiated the construction of the new fire stations in Waldperlach and Stadtmitte for the Munich volunteer fire department . After September 11, 2001, he successfully influenced the majority of the city council and convinced them that in order to maintain the high security standards in Munich, the creation of two new centers for disaster control , the construction of additional guards for the professional fire brigade and the modernization of the fire stations of Voluntary fire brigade Munich are necessary. As a member of the Association of Rescue Services in Munich, he prevented efforts by the health insurances to reduce the number of Munich emergency doctors on duty . During his time as a member of the Committee for the Public Service, Robert Brannekämper campaigned successfully for the interests of public service employees in the Bavarian State Parliament, for example for the fire brigade of the Technical University of Munich in Garching . In 2016, with the time off for the on-call duty of civil servant doctors at Bavarian university hospitals and with the right to elect to the staff council for temporary doctors, he achieved significant improvements in their working conditions.

In addition to university policy, a particular focus of work for the architect is the preservation of architectural monuments throughout Bavaria.
