Robert Mikovics
Robert Mikovics (* 1852 in Graz ; † March 2, 1894 ibid) was an Austrian architect and builder .
Life
Mikovics was baptized in Graz on December 21, 1852. After graduating from the Technical University in Graz, he worked first in the studio at Lueff, later with the architect August Ortwein , and then became self-employed as an architect and city architect. Already at Ortwein he worked on handicraft projects, later he designed and manufactured numerous altars, pulpits, church utensils as well as secular decorations. The diversity of his professional life is also evident in his construction management for the Herz-Jesu-Kirche in Graz, a plan by architect Georg von Hauberrisser . Mikovics was depicted by the sculptor Hans Brandstetter with a portrait head as a console on the northern portal of the Herz-Jesu-Kirche.
