Robert Schleip

Robert Schleip (* 1954 in Göppingen ) is a German human biologist and graduate psychologist . His specialty is fascia research .

Life

Robert Schleip graduated from the University of Heidelberg with a degree in psychology in 1980 ; 1984–1987 followed training as a Feldenkrais teacher and 1977–1983 as a Certified Advanced Rolfer .

In 2006 he received his doctorate in human biology from Ulm University . His dissertation on active fascia contractility, rated summa cum laude , received the " Vladimir Janda Prize for Musculoskeletal Medicine".

Schleip was co-initiator of the first international fascia congress in 2007 at the Harvard Medical School in Boston (1st Fascia Research Congress), with which the breakthrough for modern fascia research was achieved, as well as the subsequent congresses. He was part of the scientific committee at all events in this series.

Schleip has been Director of the Fascia Research Group, Division of Neurophysiology at Ulm University since 2008 .

Schleip was and is, together with sports medicine specialist Jürgen Steinacker, organizer of the conference "CONNECT - Connective Tissue in Sports Medicine" in 2013 and 2017.

He is also Senior Research Director of the European Rolfing Association , Vice President of the Ida P. Rolf Research Foundation , and a board member of the Fascia Research Society .

As a lecturer, he gives lectures in the fields of physiotherapy , orthopedics and training science . He is the author and editor of specialist publications on the subject of "fascia" and is present in the media on this subject. He lives in Munich .
