Robert Sigl

Robert Sigl (born July 11, 1962 ) is a German director , screenwriter and actor .

Life

From 1981 to 1986 he studied at the Munich Film School . In 1988, when he was only 25, Sigl received the Bavarian Film Prize as the best young director for his work Laurin .

In the years to come Sigl worked on various projects before shooting the fantasy adventure Christmas series Stella Stellaris in Poland . He also directed the action series Alarm for Cobra 11 . In the Süddeutsche Zeitung the episode "Prodigal Daughter" was because of those unusual atmosphere with Twin Peaks compared.

The Canadian director Paul Donovan became aware of him through the series Stella Stellaris . He was commissioned to direct one of the four pilots in the science fiction series Lexx - The Dark Zone with Hollywood star Malcolm McDowell . Lexx was a success because of its weird and bizarre humor and not least because of the huge computer-animated special effects (the proportion of computer-animated scenes per film was up to 65%) and was shown in over 100 countries.

Sigl also directed the German horror thriller Schrei - because I'm going to kill you! , which became one of the most successful television productions of 1999. It was released on DVD and video in the US under the title School's Out .

Because of his great success, Sigl was commissioned to direct Das Mädcheninternat - Nobody Will Hear Your Screams , also known as Dead Island - School's Out 2 , in France. This was followed by two episodes for the Tatort series , eleven episodes for SOKO Donau and the English-language mystery thriller Hepzibah .

Sigl is currently working on new projects, including Golgotha , The Spider , The 13th Disciple and Medusa .
