Robert "Bob" Stanley (born January 3, 1932 in Yonkers , New York , † November 15, 1997 in New York City , USA ) was an American graphic artist and painter and an important representative of Pop Art in the USA, above all known for its prints .

life and work

Robert Stanley studied at the Art Students League of New York , then at the Brooklyn Museum Art School . His first solo exhibition took place in 1965 at the Bianchini Gallery in New York.

His work is part of the collections of important museums, including the Museum of Modern Art , the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in Manhattan ; the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Fort Worth , Texas , the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC , the Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt am Main. Robert Stanley participated in the 4th documenta in Kassel in 1968 with six of his prints .
