Robert Thaller (politician)

Robert Thaller (born June 2, 1952 in Sankt Johann im Pongau ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and notary in Oberndorf near Salzburg . From 1989 to 1994 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament and from 1994 to 1999 a state councilor in the Salzburg state government .

education and profession

Thaller attended elementary school and then graduated from the Academic Gymnasium in Salzburg from 1963 to 1971 , where he passed the Matura in 1971 . After completing his school education, Thaller did his military service as a one-year volunteer between 1971 and 1972 and then studied law at the universities of Salzburg and Innsbruck from 1972 . 1979 doctorate Thaller to Dr. iur. and joined the notary office of Dr. Steiner in Salzburg, where he worked as a notary trainee until 1994. He was appointed notary in 1996 and was active as a notary in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer between 1999 and 2004 . In 2004 he was appointed to Oberndorf near Salzburg, where he ran a notary's office together with Robert Eckschlager on Kirchplatz. Robert Thaller has been working as a notary in the state capital of Salzburg since February 1, 2013.

Politics and functions

During his studies, Thaller was a member of a striking student association (academic Landsmannschaft der Salzburger) and joined the Freedom Party of Austria in 1975. During his studies between 1975 and 1976 he was a mandate of the Austrian Students' Union at the University of Salzburg and held the position of chairman of the Ring of Freedom Students (RFS). He was elected as a member of the Salzburg state parliament on May 3, 1989, and was deputy chairman of the FPÖ state parliament club from 1989 to 1994. On May 2, 1994, he moved to the state government, to which he was a member until April 27, 1999. As a regional councilor, he was responsible for land traffic, spatial planning, traffic law, nature conservation, hunting, fishing and animal welfare.
