Robert Thirlwell

Robert M. Thirlwell is a sound engineer .

Life

Thirlwell began his career with Glen Glenn Sound in 1978 with the drama In the Embers of the South by Terrence Malick . By 1998 he was involved in 79 film and television productions, mostly as a mixer sound engineer. Between 1982 and 1986 he was nominated three times for an Oscar in the Best Sound category: in 1982 together with John Wilkinson , Robert W. Glass Jr. and Robin Gregory for Back to the Future , in 1985 together with Nick Alphin , Richard Portman and David M Ronne for People on the River and in 1986 with Bill Varney , B. Tennyson Sebastian II and William B. Kaplan for Back to the Future . He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 1980 for his work on the television film The Golden Moment: An Olympic Love Story .
