Robert Veyron-Lacroix (born December 13, 1922 in Paris , † April 3, 1991 in Garches ) was a French harpsichordist and pianist .

Robert Veyron-Lacroix studied at the Paris Conservatory , where he taught from 1967 to 1988. Before that he taught at the Schola Cantorum in Paris. Veyron-Lacroix is ​​best known as the partner of the flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal , with whom he has appeared worldwide in the forty years of collaboration and made numerous records, five of which were awarded the Grand Prix du Disque . In addition, he also worked u. a. with Paul Tortelier , Arthur Grumiaux , Jordi Savall and with Jean-François Paillard and his orchestra he recorded all of Johann Sebastian Bach's harpsichord concerts.

In addition to baroque composers such as Bach , Telemann , Couperin and Rameau , his repertoire also included chamber music works by Haydn , Beethoven and Schubert , by Poulenc , Hindemith , Martinů and Bartók .

World premieres

In 1960 Veyron-Lacroix played the world premiere of the harpsichord concerto by Jean Françaix , in 1966 the Variations sur un thème de Rameau by Jean-Michel Damase and in 1966 the harpsichord concerto by Darius Milhaud . Other premieres included the sonata for flute and harpsichord by André Jolivet , and in 1958 and 1961 Carillons by Maurice Ohana .
