Roberto Gomes Guimarães

Roberto Gomes Guimarães (born January 3, 1936 in Campos ) is a Brazilian Roman Catholic clergyman and former bishop of Campos .

Life

Roberto Gomes Guimarães was ordained a priest on December 8, 1961 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Campos on November 22, 1995. The Archbishop of Niterói , Carlos Alberto Etchandy Gimeno Navarro , gave him episcopal ordination on January 7th of the following year ; Co- consecrators were João Corso SDB , Bishop Emeritus of Campos, and Hélio Gonçalves Heleno , Bishop of Caratinga .

On June 8, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
