Roberto Mauri (medalist)
Roberto Mauri (born July 19, 1949 in Rome ) is an Italian medalist .
Career
Roberto Mauri studied architecture and worked as an interior designer . After attending courses in industrial design and engraving , he began training in 1983 at the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia - Giuseppe Romagnoli of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato . Mauri works for the Istituto Poligrafico, which also acts as the mint for Italy, San Marino and the Vatican City. His design, which is also best known outside of Italy, is the face of the Italian euro coins for 50 cents with the equestrian statue of Mark Aurel on the paving of Capitol Square designed by Michelangelo . For the Italian mint, Frapiccini also designed many editions of the San Marinese and Vatican euro coins .

- Gold coins of 20 euros and 50 euros from San Marino for the 700th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Cappella degli Scrovegni (2003);
- Silver coin from San Marino to 5 euros for the XX. Olympic Winter Games in Turin (2005);
- San Marino silver coin worth 10 euros on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of military service (2005);
- 3 silver coins at 5 euros, 3 silver coins at 10 euros, 3 gold coins at 20 euros and one gold coin at 50 euros on the occasion of the XX. Winter Olympics (picture pages, 2006);
- San Marino 2 euro commemorative coin on the 500th anniversary of Sandro Botticelli's death (2010);
- 2 euro commemorative coin on the occasion of the 700th birthday of Giovanni Boccaccio (2013).
