Robin Breitbach (* 5. March 1982 in Hamburg ) is a former German - Swiss hockey player , who during his playing career, among others, for the Kloten Flyers , the HC Ambri-Piotta and Geneve-Servette HC in the National League A of the on position Defender has played.

Career

Robin Breitbach, who was born in Hamburg , grew up in Switzerland and learned to play ice hockey in the youth of the EHC Visp . In the 1999/2000 season , the Hamburg native was used by EHC Kloten for the first time in the national league, but also played for the club's youth teams for two more years. In 2001/02 he played his first full season in the highest Swiss league. During the season, the defender moved to HC Ambrì-Piotta , for whom he was also temporarily active in the following season. From the beginning of 2003, the left-shooting defender played for Genève-Servette HC . The season 2004/05 was Breitbach completely due to a serious injury that he suffered in preparation. A season later he succeeded with the club only in the relegation of relegation in the NLA.

In January 2011 Breitbach signed a contract with the ZSC Lions for two years, which was valid from the 2011/12 season . However, he ended his playing career in February 2012 due to an injury after Breitbach had not played an NLA game for Zurich.

International

Breitbach already played a number of games and tournaments for German junior selection teams of the DEB in the youth field . For example, he took part in the U18 World Championships in 1999 and 2000 . In the senior division, he played for Germany at the 2007 World Cup , when he was appointed to the senior squad for the first time by the then national coach Uwe Krupp and managed to stay up with the team.
