Rocco Matteo

Rocco Matteo (* in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian production designer , art director and producer.

Life and accomplishments

Rocco Matteo's parents were Italian immigrants. He studied architecture at the University of Toronto and then attended the Ontario College of Art for a year . He worked for design companies for several years . As a freelancer , he then created sets for operas and theater stages. Finally he turned to the film section. In 1995 he designed decorations for the romantic film drama The Scarlet Letter ( The Scarlet Letter ) with Demi Moore as the lead actress. In spring 1998 he was nominated for the dramatic television series Nikita ( La Femme Nikita ) at the Gemini Awards . In addition to costume designer Laurie Drew, Matteo shaped the minimalist style and characteristic look of the series, in which the appearance often reveals more than the sparse words. He joined these agents series of Joel Surnow with the main actors Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis as executive ( Executive Producer on). In 2005 he was nominated for a DGC Craft Award from the Directors Guild of Canada for Lives of the Saints . In 2006 he worked on the movie The Sentinel - Whom Can You Trust? ( The Sentinel ) with Michael Douglas , Kiefer Sutherland , Eva Longoria and Kim Basinger .

As Production Designer , Matteo is responsible for the set designs and as Art Director for the buildings and the decorations.
