Joelhabenow (born December 18, 1955 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American producer and screenwriter of television series. He is best known for the real-time series 24 (since 2001) with Kiefer Sutherland , which he invented together with Robert Cochran .

Life and accomplishments

Hindow was born to Jewish parents and spent the first few years of his life in the American city of Detroit. His two brothers Arnold and Seymour are much older than him. His mother Reva Loceff was a saleswoman in a clothing store. His father Max Umgebung was from Detroit. At the age of ten, Künstnow moved to Beverly Hills , California with his parents . In 1972 he graduated from Beverly Hills High School . At a young age he worked with his father as a carpet seller. He attended the University of California at Berkeley for a few semesters . Meanwhile, he was working at the Pacific Film Archive and saw at least five hundred films there. From 1975 he studied art at the University of California (UCLA) in Los Angeles and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). His first manuscript was titled Small Time . After several years as a screenwriter for television series, his professional career took off when he was involved in much of the first season of Miami Vice in 1984 , in which Don Johnson played the lead role. After that, towards one year, towards The Equalizer . This crime series starring Edward Woodward was also a success.

Arthur Loceff is the cousin of Michael Loceff , who is a computer science professor who was inspired to write scripts for television series byURNOW. Both were involved in online teaching at Jamboa Learning Technologies Inc. from the start. Zunow was the director of that company.

With his Jewish wife, Wendy Kaygen (* 1955), who studied medicine, he has two daughters, Molly (* 1979) and Rosie (* 1981). The marriage ended in divorce in 1985. Four years later he married for the second time. His Catholic wife, Colleen Carroll (* 1959), worked in film development. They have three daughters, Rachael (* 1990), Grace (* 1992) and a third daughter.

Hindow took over the final season of Falcon Crest (1989-1990), where he met Robert Cochran, with whom he later worked on the television series Nikita and 24 . In 1992 he worked in England on the Covington Cross series . In his more than twenty-five year career, he produced and wrote for various films and especially crime and action series. He invented the dramatic agent series Nikita ( La Femme Nikita ) (1997-2001), in which Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis played the lead roles. Surnow served as Executive Consultant advisory role and directed several episodes directed . Together with Robert Cochran, he created the original concept of the action series 24 (since 2001) and worked as an executive producer . This real-time series represents an hour of a day in the twenty-four episodes of a season. It was followed by up to 15 million viewers a week in the USA.

In 2003 he won the Television Producer of the Year Award in Episodic at the PGA Golden Laurel Awards for 24 , for which he was also nominated in 2004, 2006 and 2007. In 2002 he was awarded an Emmy for 24 . From 2002 to 2005 he was also nominated for 24 for an Emmy. In 2006, he received another Emmy for 24 as Outstanding Drama Series . From the Writers Guild of America he was nominated for the WGA Award in 2007 for 24 along with others ( see also: List of awards for the television series 24 ). TV series 24 has been dubbed the most exciting TV series of all time and the landmark series of the 21st century .

As of February 18, 2007, the Fox News Channel broadcast two episodes of the new satirical show The 1/2 Hour News Hour , which was developed byURNOW and Manny Coto. It is similar to the Daily Show , but in contrast is aimed at the conservative US audience. Thirteen other parts of this program will be broadcast weekly starting May 13, 2007. The original working title was This Just In .

In 2007, Joel Zusammenarbeit and Robert Cochran u. a. the series The Call and together with David Ehrman, Howard Gordon and Jon Cassar the series or the pilot film Company Man , whose working title was NSA Innocent .

Ora's production company Real Time Entertainment is based in the San Fernando Valley , which is in north Los Angeles .
