Rock the Paint is a 2005 drama film. Douglas Smith and Kevin Phillips played the leading roles . The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival , where it was shown in a 90-minute version. The US DVD version is 105 minutes long. The film was also shown at the Black International Cinema Festival in Berlin in 2005. Filming locations were Newark , New Jersey and Woodstock , New York, known from the music festival . Josh Sendler's world changes when he moves from Indiana to Newark. There he befriends the basketball miracle Antwon Jackson and together they are in the running for the high school championship.
