action

Lan Hikari (光 熱 斗, Hikari Netto) is a boy from DenTech City who wants nothing more than a personal NetNavi with which he can compete against his friends in so-called NetBattles. When his father granted him his wish in the form of MegaMan (ロ ッ ク マ ン, Rockman), he was initially not very enthusiastic about his new friend, but it soon turned out that he was strong enough to compete with him in an upcoming big tournament, the N1-Grand-Prix, in whose finals Lan and MegaMan can finally advance.

Lan loses the final, Pharaoman wakes up and deletes MegaMan. However, it is restored and Pharaoman deletes himself. Lan then goes on a world tour, which he won as runner-up in the N1 Grand Prix. After his return to DenTech City, Maylu (桜 井 メ イ ル, Sakurai Meiru) shows him NetCity, a huge city in the cyber world. However, a mysterious man named Kid Grave wants to destroy NetCity. In the last episodes of the series, the "virus beast" is unleashed on NetCity. Bass absorbs the virus beast, but this breaks free from his body. Lan and the others learn from Dr. Wily, that Kid Grave is just a robot and that Bass is the reincarnation of Pharaoh. Meanwhile, MegaMan, infected with a virus by Bass, is on the verge of being deleted. He escapes to NetCity on his own and absorbs NetCity and the virus beast in "virus style". However, at the end of the penultimate episode, he restores NetCity and frees himself from the virus. In the final episode, Lan and his friends have to rid a shopping mall of viruses in the real world. In the end, MegaMan also appears in the real world and erases the giant life virus. Lan ends up waking his father, whose failed experiment was responsible for the virus invasion.
