The Roger Williams National Memorial in Providence ( Rhode Iceland ) is a national monument in the United States.
The landscaped park is reminiscent of Roger Williams , who founded Providence under God's merciful Providence after he and his followers were driven from the Massachusetts Bay Colony by the Puritans in 1636 .
