The Rogue Valley AVA is a wine-growing region in the southern US state of Oregon . Modern viticulture began in Oregon around the mid-1960s, and it was recognized as an American Viticultural Area (AVA) in 2000.

The wine-growing region is part of the superior designation of origin Southern Oregon AVA and extends over the catchment area of ​​the Rogue River with its tributaries Illinois River , Applegate River and Bear Creek . The majority of the wineries have so far settled in the valleys of the tributaries.

Most of the almost 110 × 100 km area is not suitable for viticulture . So far, only about 20 wineries have been founded. The Rogue Valley AVA Designation of Origin has one of the warmest and driest areas in Oregon.
