The western moorland near Möhra |
The Rohrgraben is a 6.6 km long orographically right tributary of the Werra in Thuringia in Germany . It is a natural runoff from the moorland near Bad Salzungen .
course
The Rohrgraben begins in the lowland south of Möhra (at the former agricultural airfield) and initially runs in a westerly direction, following the terrain profile, near the small settlement of Hetzeberg , then turns in a short arc in a southerly direction and flows past the Röhrigshof to the former estate Oberrohn . From there the Rohrgraben meanders as a natural stream through the narrow valley floor on the western flank of the wooded ridge Winterkasten and reaches the Werra floodplain at the level of Unterrohn .
Surname
The water body name is said to have been derived from the reed plants . The Röhrigshof is named after the river, as are the original three courtyards, Ober-Mittel and Unterrohn.
