Robert "Robbie" Patrick Amell (born April 21, 1988 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor , film producer .

Life

Robbie Amell was born in April 1988 to Jennifer and Christopher Amell. His older cousin is actor Stephen Amell . Together with his sister, Amell began modeling and acting in commercials at the age of 6 . At the age of sixteen he began acting for college performances. Because of his passion for acting, he attended the Canadian Studios Acting Academy. In 2006, he graduated from the Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute in Toronto.

In 2008 he started a relationship with actress Italia Ricci , with whom he got engaged in August 2014. The couple married on October 15, 2016 in Los Angeles .

Career

Amell made his acting debut in 2005 in the movie Cheaper By The Dozen 2 , in which he played the role of Daniel Murtaugh . From 2006 to 2008 he starred in Human, Derek! the recurring role of Max Miller . In 2007 he starred in American Pie Presents: The College Clique With. In 2008 he played the main male role alongside Ashley Tisdale in Party Date .

However, Amell's breakthrough came with the role of Jimmy Madigan in the series True Jackson , which he played from 2008 to 2011. In 2009 he played the role of Fred Jones in the TV movie Scooby-Doo !: The Adventure Begins . He took on the same role in the 2010 sequel Scooby-Doo! 4 - The curse of the sea monster . Over the years Amell has made a number of guest appearances, including How I Met Your Mother , Brothers & Sisters , Alcatraz , Pretty Little Liars and Hawaii Five-0 .

In 2011 and 2012 he starred in the supporting role of Adam in Revenge . From autumn 2013 to spring 2014 he had the lead role as Stephen Jameson in science fiction - television series The Tomorrow People held. In October 2013, the Hallmark Channel aired the TV movie The Hunters , in which Amell played the lead role of Paxton Flynn . For fall 2014, he landed a supporting role as Ronnie Raymond in The CW - Action television series The Flash .
