Cheaper by the Dozen 2 - Two Fathers Going Out is a 2005 American film directed by 20th Century Fox . It is the sequel to Cheaper by the Dozen .

action

Tom and Kate Baker, parents of twelve children, take their entire offspring on vacation by a lake. To relive the old times, they all go to the lake where they used to spend their holidays. Unfortunately, Tom's arch-rival Jimmy Murtaugh and his wife Sarina and eight children have made their way there. Almost the entire lake now belongs to him. The rivalry between the two fathers is really heated again when Sarah Baker and Elliot Murtaugh and Charlie Baker and Anne Murtaugh fall in love. To make it clear once and for all who the better family is, Tom Baker lets Jimmy Murtaugh persuade him to take part in the annual family competition at the lake. At the end of the competition, however, both teams have the same number of points. A canoe race is held to determine a winner. During the race, Nora Baker-McNulty went into labor. Both families go to the hospital together, where Nora gives birth to her child. The rivalry between the two fathers is resolved and both decide to give their children more freedom.

criticism

"[...] family-friendly, largely predictable Hollywood entertainment with a few pretty punchlines and some sensitive moments when the first tender love bonds are forged between two teenagers of the warring family."

“You know this film even before you go to the cinema. [...] Because not a second of this film is somehow surprising, novel or even remotely imaginative. "
