Stephanie Italia Ricci (born October 29, 1986 in Richmond Hill , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress .
Life
Italia Ricci was born in Richmond Hill , Ontario in October 1986 and is of Italian descent. She attended Queen's University in Kingston .
Ricci made her acting debut in the 2007 film American Pie Presents: The College Clique as Laura Johnson . This was followed by the supporting role of Chase Ravenwood in the Disney XD television series Aaron Stone . In the following years she had worked in How I Met Your Mother , Dr. House and True Jackson made several guest appearances. As Maggie Winnock , she starred in the short-lived television series Unnatural History in 2010 .
In 2013 she appeared in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut Don Jon . From June 2014 to September 2015 she played the April Carver in the ABC Family - Dramedy Chasing Life .
In 2008 she started a relationship with actor Robbie Amell , to whom she got engaged in August 2014. The couple entered the state of marriage on October 15, 2016 in Los Angeles .
From September 2016 to 2019 Ricci played for the American broadcaster ABC in the political thriller Designated Survivor . She played Emily Rhodes , special adviser and later chief of staff to the President .
