Roland Meyer de Voltaire

Roland Meyer de Voltaire (born September 8, 1978 in Bonn ) is a German singer , film music composer , songwriter and music producer .

He grew up in Bonn , Moscow and Beijing , as one of three sons with a German father and a Bolivian mother.

Musical career

Meyer de Voltaire was the front man of the band Voltaire from 2003 to 2011 . With Voltaire he released two EPs and two albums, including the 2006 album Today is Every Day . In 2011 he published the song Lauf, Lauf under his own name for the documentary Tom meets Zizou - No summer fairy tale by Aljoscha Pause .

Meyer de Voltaire has been performing under the name SCHWARZ since 2016 , released several singles and EPs and in 2019 the album White Room . Since then he has also appeared regularly as a guest singer and producer for various musicians such as Megaloh , Enno Bunger and Schiller . He accompanied the latter on his arena tour through Germany in May 2019.

On June 5, 2020, the five-part documentary series Wie ein Fremder - A German Pop Music Story was released as Blu-ray and Video-On-Demand. In this long-term study by Aljoscha Pause , the filmmaker Roland Meyer accompanies de Voltaire over a period of six years.
