Reviews

“A journey to yourself. A wonderful story of conviction and hope. "

"A portrait of an impressive person - for whom music is nothing less than existential."

“It is a tragic fairy tale as only pop music can write it. An intimate, close and yet never pathetic portrait of a person who actually never wanted to do anything other than music. And it almost breaks. Just like Hesse, who writes in his Demian: 'I didn't want to try anything but what I wanted to do by itself. Why was it so very difficult? ' The German music documentary of the year. "

- Björn Springorum : uDiscover Music

“You can't really get a better insight into the reality of a musician's life. I think you understand better what really makes an artist. A really great long-term documentary series. "

"What Tom Meets Zizou was to football is Like a Stranger to the music industry."

“I saw the series in one night and I'm thrilled. Addictive factor! "

- Dr. Ulrich Spies : Head of the Adolf Grimme Prize 1981–2014

"Aljoscha Pause immerses himself meticulously and with passion in this story, which tells of a musician who has everything it takes to grow up."

“Like a stranger, it is a plea to dare to venture more often in life, to leave your comfort zone, not to be afraid of finding the right place in life and to have the courage to start over. A long-term study that is well worth seeing. "

“Anyone who thinks not just of a philosopher, but of a German pop music promise with Voltaire and has bittersweet tones and deeply sad lines in mind, is exactly right with Aljoscha Pause's latest documentary project. The rest should have a look to learn something about the imponderables of an artist's life, the uncompromising love for a vocation and the German music industry. "
