Roland Winters
Roland Winters (born November 22, 1904 in Boston , Massachusetts as Roland Winternitz , † October 22, 1989 in Englewood , New Jersey ) was an American actor.
He is best known for the role of the Chinese-Hawaiian detective Charlie Chan , whom he played as the third actor in six films from 1947 after the death of Sidney Toler . In other movies he mostly appeared in smaller roles, including 1957 in jet fighter alongside John Wayne or in 1961 in the successful music film Blue Hawaii with Elvis Presley . In addition, he was mainly seen on television in various series, shows and films. His work includes more than 100 productions.
Winters was also seen as an actor on Broadway . He died at the Actors Fund Home from a stroke at the age of 84.
