Rolf Defrank

Rolf Defrank (born December 24, 1926 in Leipzig ; † July 14, 2012 ) was a German actor and author .

Life

Defrank began his artistic career as an actor at the Mainz City Theater, where he was engaged until 1953. Further stages were Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden and the Volksbühne on Luxemburgplatz in Berlin. He played Paris in Georg Büchner's Dantons Tod , the Curio in William Shakespeare's Was Ihr wollt and Franz von Sickingen in Goethe's Götz von Berlichingen . He also worked as a film and television actor in both West and East German productions. For DEFA , he played in Grube Morgenrot under the direction of Wolfgang Schleif and in Where you go ... and Yvette's millions under the direction of Martin Hellberg .

In addition to acting, Defrank also directed, to which he finally temporarily shifted his artistic focus. Defrank not only staged for the theater, but also television productions.
