Rolf Lederer (born July 19, 1937 in Weida ; † September 22, 2011 in Dossenheim ) was a German football player . As an active member of SV Waldhof Mannheim , he completed 56 league games from 1960 to 1962 in what was then the first-class soccer league south and scored one goal. From 1963 to 1970, 218 league appearances with six goals were added to the Football Regionalliga Süd .

Career

Rolf Lederer played in the first team of the BSG Progress Weida at the age of 17 . After moving to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1955, the trained weaver first came to SV 07 Seckenheim (1955–1958) in Mannheim, with whom he played the association games in North Baden in the 2nd Rhein-Neckar amateur league. From the round 1959/60 the two-footed midfielder then played at SV Waldhof. The team from Alsenweg was relegated in 1958/59 as bottom of the table from the Oberliga to the 2nd League South. With coach Árpád Medve , at the side of captain Fritz Rößling and teammates Wolfgang Höfig and Klaus Sinn , he won the title and returned to the Oberliga Süd in his first year at Waldhof in 1959/60. In 1961, relegation could be prevented with a one-point lead over TSG Ulm 1846, but after the end of the round in 1961/62, Waldhof fell again into the second division. Personally, the Waldhof player, who predominantly played on the left runner's position, showed excellent form in the first half of the season by playing in DFB viewing games. In four test matches in August, September, October and November 1961, he was able to join ranks of DFB selection teams alongside Günter Bernard , Fritz Ewert , Wolfgang Fahrian , Friedel Lutz , Werner Olk , Hans Nowak , Willi Schulz , Willi Giesemann and Rolf Fritzsche and Helmut Haller prove their worth. A protracted injury then threw him out of the race for places in the national team.

Due to the third place in the last year of the old second-class 2nd league south, 1962/63, Waldhof was qualified for the football regional league south starting from the season 1963/64. In the rounds of 1964/65 (4th) and 1965/66 (3rd), Lederer and Waldhof placed in the top group. In the next few rounds Waldhof could no longer play for the places at the top of the table and after the 1969/70 season , it was Lederer's 11th game year at SV Waldhof, even went down to the amateur camp. With his former teammate Klaus Sinn as coach, captain Rolf Lederer won the championship in 1970/71 in the 1st Amateur League North Baden with 102:25 goals and 50:10 points. During the round, the young Günter Sebert in particular drew attention to his outstanding talent. In the promotion round to the Regionalliga Süd but Waldhof could not prevail against FC Singen, SpVgg Ludwigsburg and FC Emmendingen. The play-off on June 20, 1971 in Rastatt lost the blue-blacks with 1: 2 goals against Ludwigsburg. The senior also played in the amateur country cup for North Baden this season .

From 1959 to 1972 he was loyal to SV Waldhof Mannheim and played a total of 703 games for the blue-blacks, who made him honorary captain at the end of his career .
