Roman Hennadijowytsch Monarow ( Ukrainian Рома́н Генна́дійович Монарьо́в ; born January 17, 1980 in Kropywnyzkyj , Kirowohrad Oblast ) is a Ukrainian football coach and former football player.

Career

Monarov grew up in his hometown Kropywnyzkyj, where he started playing football at an early age at the insistence of his father. During his active career, Monarow was under contract with 12 different clubs. He played 349 games in the Ukrainian and Russian leagues and scored 81 goals. Most league games (111) he completed for Schinnik Yaroslavl and scored 28 goals for them.

In 2017 Monarow took over the coaching position at the Ukrainian first division club FK Sirka Kropywnyzkyj , which he led to relegation at the end of the 2016/17 season . In the 2017/18 season Monarow rose with FK Sirka after losing relegation to Desna Chernihiv in the Perscha Liha . Monarov was then released.

In 2019 he briefly coached the Kazakh first division club FK Atyrau , with whom he was relegated to the second-highest division. He was released at the end of the season.
