Romolo Carboni

Romolo Carboni (born May 9, 1911 in Fano , Province of Pesaro and Urbino , Italy ; † September 2, 1999 , ibid) was a Vatican diplomat .

Life

Romolo Carboni was ordained a priest in the diocese of Fano in 1934 . Pope Pius XII awarded him the honorary title of House Prelate of His Holiness on December 6, 1949 .

In 1953 Pope Pius XII appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Sidon and ordered him to the Apostolic Delegate in Australia . He was ordained bishop on October 25, 1953 by the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Cardinal Pietro Fumasoni Biondi ; Co- consecrators were Antonio Samorè , Curia Bishop and later Cardinal , and Vincenzo Del Signore , Bishop of Fano. From 1959 to 1969 Romolo Carboni was Apostolic Nuncio in Peru , from 1969 to 1986 in Italy .

In 1986 his resignation was granted by Pope John Paul II .
