Ronald Jopt

Ronald Jopt (born January 23, 1963 in Greiz ) is a German artist , clown and actor . He gained fame primarily through the fictional character clown Jopi, which he embodied .

Life

Ronald Jopt comes from a theater family and grew up in Gera. His mother was a stage dancer, his father, the actor Harald Jopt , has appeared in various DEFA and television films. In 1969, when he started school in Gera, Ronald Jopt moved to East Berlin at the end of his school days . From 1979 to 1983 he studied at the State School for Artistry , flanked by training in clarinet at the Berlin-Mitte music school .

After an engagement at the State Circus of the GDR , where Ronald Jopt performed in the arenas of the Berolina and Busch Circus as an artist / equilibrist and clown, he was in 1985/1986 as a youth club director in the Kulturhaus in "Ernst-Thälmann-Park “Berlin and then freelance, took acting and pantomime lessons at the same time and qualified in tap dance in addition to speaking training. His acrobatic acting training, together with his skills as an instrumental soloist (including bagpipes ), culminated in the figure he developed of the clown Jopi - with whom Ronald Jopt created numerous pantomime-musical solo performances. Often on the stage of his self-built circus wagon , with which he drives through the country, pulled by a Famulus RS14 / 36 vintage tractor .

From 1987 to 1994 he appeared regularly in projects at the Vorpommersche Landesbühne Anklam , later also at the Theater der Altmark Stendal . It was from 1993 each for the summer season in a Ronald Jopts idea Anklamer theater productions circus tent , the Chapeau Rouge , on the beach promenade of the seaside resort Heringsdorf to present. From 1999 to 2002 took a Thomas Langhoff for his production Visit of the Old Lady by Friedrich Dürrenmatt Ronald Jopt as a guest to the German Theater Berlin. Ronald Jopt toured Mongolia in November 2014 with a guest performance sponsored by the Goethe-Institut and the Foreign Office and appeared on the local television program.

For the training of clowns, pantomimes and actors, Jopt works as a lecturer for numerous workshops and training courses. He lives in Berlin and in the Uckermark .
