Ronaldo Lunas

Ronaldo Ignacio Lunas (born November 27, 1966 in Magsaysay , Davao del Sur ) is a Filipino clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Pagadian .

Life

Ronaldo Lunas studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology in Davao City and received the sacrament of ordination for the Diocese of Digos on April 7, 1992 .

After a brief activity in pastoral care in the Parish Immaculate Conception in Caburan, he stayed in Rome from 1993 to 1996 for further studies. He graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University with a degree in theology. After returning home, he was initially a lecturer and later head of the St. Francis Xavier Regional Seminary in Davao City. From 2005 to 2008 he was chancellor of the diocesan curia and then pastor in Davao City. Since 2013 he has been episcopal vicar for the clergy of the Diocese of Digos and belonged to the college of consultors and the council of priestson. From 2014 until his appointment as bishop he was pastor of the parish of Joseph the Workers in Santa Cruz .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Pagadian on November 22, 2018. The bishop of Digos, Guillermo Dela Vega Afable , donated to him on 11 February of the following year at the Cathedral of Digos City , the episcopal ordination . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Ozamis , Martin Jumoad , and his predecessor Emmanuel Treveno Cabajar CSsR . The inauguration in the diocese of Pagadian took place on March 25, 2019.
