The Rongeant is a river in France that runs in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region . The river rises on the municipal boundary of Thonnance-les-Moulins and Germay , drains generally in a north-west direction and flows into the Marne as a right tributary after around 19 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Thonnance-lès-Joinville and Joinville . Just before its mouth, it crosses under the canal Entre Champagne et Bourgogne at lock No. 45 - Rongeant, named after it.
