Rosenberg is a city in Fort Bend County in the US state of Texas in the United States of America and is part of the Houston Sugar Land Baytown Metropolitan Area.

The city is located on Highway 59 , about 50 km southwest of Houston , centrally in Fort Bend County and has a total area of ​​55.1 km², of which 0.1 km² is water.

history

The city was named after Henry von Rosenberg, a Swiss immigrant who came to the United States in 1843 and later became the first president of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway . Settlement of the area began in 1823 by members of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred .
