Rosenberg is a city in Fort Bend County in the US state of Texas in the United States of America and is part of the Houston Sugar Land Baytown Metropolitan Area.

The city is located on Highway 59 , about 50 km southwest of Houston , centrally in Fort Bend County and has a total area of 55.1 km², of which 0.1 km² is water.
history
The city was named after Henry von Rosenberg, a Swiss immigrant who came to the United States in 1843 and later became the first president of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway . Settlement of the area began in 1823 by members of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred .

According to the 2000 census, 24,043 people in 7,933 households and 5,973 families lived here. The population density was 436.8 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 65.69% White, 8.53% African American, 0.37% Native American, 0.38% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, and 22.17% other ethnic groups. About 2.81% were mixed race and 54.96% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 7,933 households, 41.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 53.4% of these were married couples living together. 15.7% were single mothers and 24.7% were non-families. 20.8% of all households were single households and 8.1% had people living there who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.00 and the average family size was 3.48 people.
30.9% of the population were under 18 years old, 10.8% 18 to 24, 30.0% 25 to 44, 18.5% 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 98.6 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 95.2 men.
The median income for a household in the 35,510 USD , and the median income for a family 39,965 USD. Males had a median income of $ 28,723 versus $ 21,945 for females. The per capita income was $ 14,814. 16.1% of the population and 13.6% of families are below the poverty line. Of these, 20.7% were children and adolescents under 18 years of age and 12.9% were 65 or older.
