Rosental is a group in the cadastral community of Siegenfeld in the municipality of Heiligenkreuz in Lower Austria .
The Rosental was first mentioned in 1386, at that time still a valley surrounded by forests, which Heinrich II had donated to Heiligenkreuz Abbey together with the village of Siegenfeld in 1166 . The name Rosental either refers to meadows (lawn valley) or comes from Rosstal , which indicates its use as a horse pasture.
