history

The Blauvogel holiday village was founded in the 1990s after the reunification of Germany.

Hoyerteich and Waldseebad

The Hoyerteich was artificially dammed in 1913. It was named after the mayor of Hasselfelde at the time, who was responsible for its creation. The water was used for drinking water production, flood protection and supplying the forest lake resort. After increasing siltation, the pond was renatured in the 1990s, so that today it has an area of around one hectare and a maximum depth of four meters.

The neighboring Waldseebad reaches almost the same size as the Hoyerteich. Both bodies of water are fed by the Sellegraben.
